In this tutorial, we will go through how to make a typical Deadmau5 synth - the example I use is specifically from his hit Brazil. This is a 2 part tutorial so in the first part we will go through how to make the synth itself and in the second part we will add all of the effects which really makes the synth sound good.

The synth is actually very simple - just detuned saw waves. It’s the envelopes that are applied to it that really give it that plucky feel. This combined with some compression, reverb, delay and a limiter give a pretty good replication of the sound.
